SAFETY AND PRIVACY FOR THE HOME

Inzlingen is a small municipality in Baden-Württemberg, at the point where Germany, Switzerland and France meet. The village sprang up in a former agricultural area after the Second World War, and became a dormitory for Greater Basel. In 2015, it gained an eye-catching new building, consisting of 6 apartments.

About the project
Each of the apartments above ground-floor level has a protruding balcony, which is surrounded by a Q-line railing with stainless steel posts and handrails and glass infills. For added safety, laminated glass has been used. The glass is slightly tinted to provide privacy, while maintaining a high degree of transparency.

High-grade stainless steel MOD 26 glass clamps were included in the railing design, as they allow glass infills to be mounted without drilling through them. At the corners, MOD 22 glass connectors have been used to create a safe and strong connection.

In total, more than 30 metres of railing were installed by the local firm Jürgen Medam GmbH. This included railings and handrails for the indoor staircases.
