Bertrange is a town of around 6,000 people in the south-west of Luxembourg. Located only 6 km from the capital, Luxembourg City, it could, in fact, be seen as a suburb. Its peace and quiet stand in stark contrast to the buzz of life in the city. That said, the city does exercise a degree of influence over life in the suburb, bringing about change and improvement.
The financial sector is the largest contributor to Luxembourg’s national economy. The country’s innovative and outward-looking character make it an ideal hub for investors from all over the world – nowhere more so than the capital, Luxembourg City. As a result, the suburbs of the capital have experienced a major architectural transformation over the last few years. Numerous high-quality apartment buildings have been constructed, which make optimal use of the scarce building land. Q-railing balustrades have made the perfect addition to balconies and terraces in several of these stylish developments.
About the project
Finished in June 2014, the Cerisier Residences development consists of 10 apartment buildings surrounded by peaceful green spaces. Elements such as projecting balconies with glass railings make for a stunning, modern appearance. It is a fine example of the kind of sophisticated living environments that are appearing in Luxembourg.
The contractor, Baumeister Haus, in consultation with the project installer, Metallbau Roth, identified Easy Glass Slim as a perfect fit for the chic, modern look of the Cerisier Residences. This system has the added advantage of being extremely cost-efficient, since it is quick and easy to install – an important factor, given that more than 1,600 metres of railing were required for outside balconies and penthouse roof terraces.
