Tall Tree Gardens is a residential development consisting of 12 superior apartments. It is situated close to the centre of the bustling and attractive village of Bolton-le-Sands, Lancashire. Approached via a gracious driveway, the buildings have an exclusive feel. Their quiet, leafy surroundings are officially designated a conservation area, and every effort has been made to use materials and an architectural style that harmonise with the setting. Sensitive to these requirements, Q-railing supplied high-transparency frameless glass balustrades for the external balconies, making use of their Easy Glass Pro system. For floor-to-ceiling windows, we provided Juliet balconies, which incorporate Easy Glass MOD 0748 glass adapters. Inside the buildings, each of the staircases received a railing with glass infill and posts, created using the Q-line system, also from Q-railing.

Outside and in, Tall Tree Gardens conveys a strong sense of quality. The apartments are extremely spacious, and the bedrooms benefit from en suite facilities. In the opulent bathrooms, modernity and tradition combine, with stainless steel fittings alongside luxurious ceramic tiles. Solid timber doors and eye-catching iron features contribute to the overall sense of solidity.

As part of this commitment to quality, Harrison Pitt Architects adopted a range of solutions from Q-railing. Easy Glass Pro was used to create frameless glass balustrades for the external balconies. The architects were attracted by the system’s slim design and ability to deliver large areas of transparency. It ensures that nothing detracts from the beautiful stonework of the facade. In addition, glass infills held in place by Easy Glass MOD 0748 glass adapters were identified as the perfect way to provide near-invisible safety barriers for the apartment’s full-length windows. These barriers allow maximum light into the rooms and make for uninterrupted views – a must, given the premium nature of the development. Inside, the buildings, posted railings with stainless steel balusters were added to each of the staircases using the Q-line system. They create a stylish contemporary impression that contrasts with the traditional features and natural surroundings of Tall Tree Gardens.

Safe frameless glass balustrades

The architects were also attracted by the high safety standards of our systems. Tall Tree Gardens was designed to meet the highest standards in this respect. In particular, regulations demanded excellent fall protection, since the buildings are 3-storey structures.

Low-hassle installation

The Kendal based company Wightman Engineering was chosen to carry out the installation. It installed the frameless Easy Glass Pro glass balustrades with 15 mm toughened glass and 42.4 mm cap rails. Thanks to the glass-alignment solution built into the base shoe, their job became a lot easier. It allowed the team to work entirely from the safety of the balcony

The Juliet balconies using the MOD 0748 glass adapters were installed with 17.52 mm toughened glass and the Q-line stair railings with MOD 28 glass clamps holding 10 mm toughened glass infills.

In total, Wightman Engineering installed approximately 150 metres of our railings.
