In a beautiful hillside setting near Hamburg, architect Remo Martin in collaboration with Langer GmbH have created a stunning villa. In order to take full advantage of the site’s magnificent rural views, a long structure with extensive glazing was planned. Glass is also a key feature of the interior.
About the project
The various reception rooms on the ground floor are separated by 3-metre wide glass partitions. Slide one aside and you step through into a gallery. To your right and left are open-plan living and dining areas. The bright, welcoming spaces seem to flow easily into one another. Passing through them, you arrive at a spacious terrace with a broad flight of steps leading down to the garden. It is as if the indoor and outdoor worlds have become one – a feeling intensified by floor-to-ceiling glass walls.
Upstairs, the 2 bedrooms share a long, covered balcony, where around 40 metres of Q-railing’s Easy Glass® Slim railing system has been installed. The uninterrupted transparency of the glass balustrade is in keeping with the architect’s vision of maximum light and openness - like the ground floor, the upper storey features retractable floor-to-ceiling glass walls and clean white surfaces.
