Q-disc System wins prestigious Red Dot award

Great news: our latest innovation in glass balustrades, the Q-disc System for easy glass fixing and alignment, has received a Red Dot Design Award! The jury report states that ‘The Q-disc fixing system represents a new approach to installing glass railings, thanks to its sophisticated functionality and the resulting ease of handling.’ Q-disc helps to significantly simplify the installation of glass infills for glass balustrades and is incorporated in our Easy Glass Smart and Easy Glass Prime railing systems.

There are two different versions of the Q-disc System. Both consist of only three components – an inlay, a Q-disc and the Q-tool – but they differ in functionality. The fixed Q-disc System focuses on making the positioning and fixing of glass panels easy. The adjustable variant can do the same, but, in addition, lets you easily align individual glass panels.



You can order the fixed Q-disc System together with the Easy Glass Smart glass railing and can use it with glass panels that are between 12 and 21.52 mm thick. The adjustable Q-disc System is available with Easy Glass Prime, and is suitable for glass thicknesses ranging from 16.76 all the way up to 25.25 mm. Both Q-disc Systems have handy indication points that show you correct start and end positions, and both confirm correct installation with a reassuring ‘click’. The entire glass fixing and alignment process can be completed without having to apply force at any point.

Fixed Q-disc System

The fixed Q-disc System is a new and unique way of easily positioning and fixing glass panels in glass balustrade base shoes. You will find it a great alternative to more traditional balustrade systems, which require the glass to be held in place with wedges. 

Adjustable Q-disc System

Floor surfaces are hardly ever level. That is why we offer shoe shims for Easy Glass Smart and Easy Glass Prime. But we also have an adjustable Q-disc System available for Easy Glass Prime glass balustrades. It enables you to realign glass panels by up to 1.2 degrees from the vertical.
