NO COMPROMISING ON SAFETY

The Amsterdam Arena is the largest stadium in the Netherlands. Outside the country it is mainly known as the home of football club AFC Ajax, but the stadium also hosts the Dutch national football team’s matches as well as many concerts and events. The stadium, which has a spectacular retractable roof, can seat more than 53,000 people for football matches, and 68,000 for concerts with centre-stage setups.

About the project
The construction of the arena was completed in 1996, but when it became necessary to renovate part of the stands and the coaching zone, the architect contacted Q-railing. They needed a glass balustrade that would maintain an excellent view of the field, without compromising on safety. The answer was Easy Glass® 3kN. This structural glazing railing was designed specifically for use in public locations with high safety demands. The architect combined the Easy Glass 3kN base shoes and glass infill with a high-grade stainless steel cap rail.
